This website is operated by Alex Dean under the trading name Building Energy Surveyors. Contact: hello@energy-surveyors.com or 07554 597207.

Website information

Website content and guidance are general information only. They do not constitute a diagnosis, survey, design, legal advice, medical advice or a substitute for property-specific professional assessment. While reasonable care is taken, information may not be complete or current for every property or project.

Quotations and appointments

Guide prices are indicative and stated + VAT. A service is not booked until the scope, fee, access, timing, payment terms and any relevant limitations are confirmed in writing. Project-specific terms supplied with a quotation or appointment take precedence over this general website information.

Survey scope and access

Surveys are limited to the agreed scope and to areas that can be accessed and inspected safely. Unless expressly agreed, inspections are visual and non-intrusive. Concealed construction, services, hazardous materials, structural calculations, legal title, drainage and specialist testing are outside scope. Where evidence is incomplete, the report may recommend opening-up or another specialist.

Damp, mould and laboratory work

Building moisture is dynamic and can be influenced by weather, occupation, heating, ventilation, defects and past works. Findings reflect accessible evidence at the time of inspection. Laboratory results relate to the sample and method used; they do not by themselves establish the full cause, exposure or health effect. Health concerns should be referred to an appropriate healthcare professional.

Drone operations

All flights are subject to safe and lawful operating conditions, including weather, airspace, permissions, people, privacy, access and site hazards. A flight may be changed, postponed or cancelled where conditions are unsuitable. Drone imagery records visible surfaces and does not replace structural, intrusive or other specialist investigation. Photogrammetric outputs have tolerances that will be stated or agreed for the intended use.

Retrofit consultancy

Advice is provided within the agreed role and project stage. Specialist design, statutory approval, installer workmanship, product suitability and final compliance remain the responsibility of the appropriately appointed parties unless expressly included in the written scope.

Reports and reliance

Reports are prepared for the named client, property, purpose and agreed scope. No third party should rely on a report without prior written agreement. Reports should be read as a whole, including limitations, assumptions and recommendations, and should not be altered or reproduced selectively in a misleading way.

Intellectual property

Website text, design, reports, photographs, video and other original material remain protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Clients receive the usage rights stated in their appointment or deliverables. Supplied ABBE and TrustMark marks remain the property of their respective owners and are displayed to communicate qualification or recognition.

Nothing on this page excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits statutory consumer rights. Any service-specific liability provisions are set out in the written appointment. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Governing law

This website and these general terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to the user.
